The Internet has made it possible for a lot of things to happen. Not only can you sit down in your pajamas and order whatever you want online, but you can also take advantage of the Internet of things and automate your house. Automating your house can make things easier for you and allows you to show off to your friends if you want to. So, what are some things that you can automate?
1. Door Locks
You can actually automate your door locks. There are different ways that you can do that. One is that you can have a lock that will read your smart device when you get close. You can also use the app to unlock it, so you don't have to fumble around for your keys. You can use an alarm system and have the door lock hooked into the system, which means that you can access the alarm system from wherever you may happen to be to see if your door is locked and unlock or lock it. If someone is at your house and locked out, they can call you, and you can let them in.
The way that the lightbulb in your favorite lamp can be automated is that you can buy a little base that will go in between your lightbulb and your lamp. That base will connect to your Wifi so that you can turn it on wherever you are. Say you have the lights in your bedroom hooked up, and you want to turn it on before you go in there to go to bed, but you are across the house and downstairs, the easiest way to do it would be to access the base and tell it to turn on the light. This way, you aren't walking into a dark bedroom nor do you have to fuss with turning on and off all the lights between you and your bedroom.
There are lightbulbs that already have that have that base so that you don't have to get separate items. Some of those bulbs will also let you change colors so you can have all kinds of different colored light. That can be a lot of fun when you are a kid, or you have these in your kid's room.
